About the Role We are looking for motivated and reliable Swim Instructors to join our Beatty Park Leisure Centre Swim School team in 2025. The Swim School provides lessons over 7 days a week for students, ranging from babies to adults. We also have an award-winning Angelfish Program for students with a disability or requiring additional needs. Our program is year-round, from January/February to December, where students move through the program once they have achieved the skills in their level. The role is responsible for providing a high standard of service to swim school patrons, with key duties including: Conduct swimming classes: conduct high quality, purposeful swimming lessons updating and modifying classes and techniques as required, conduct assessments and recommendations for student progressions, always maintaining the highest standard of safety Customer service: provide a high quality of swim lesson and service delivery, provide information to participants on learning progress, respond promptly to any communications received and always provide a high level of customer service in-line with the City’s Customer Service Charter Administration: maintain accurate records of participants in lessons and associated paperwork Workplace health & safety: ensure the work area is maintained in a safe, clean and tidy condition, reducing the risk of accidents occurring, and exercise a duty of care regarding own safety and that of others What are we looking for? To be successful in this role you will need: Well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of safe and appropriate swimming techniques Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Current Swim Australia Teacher Certificate or Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate or RLSSWA Swim Teacher certificate Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate A current Working with Children Check What can the City of Vincent offer you?
