Are you a dedicated and passionate Teacher with experience in special education? We are seeking a Primary Special Education Teacher to join our team on a fixed term basis, working with children who have Autism in a supportive and nurturing environment. As a Primary Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing tailored educational support to children with Autism in a small class setting. You will be the main teacher responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing individualized learning programs to meet the diverse needs of each student. Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum, tailored to the specific needs and abilities of students with Autism. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external specialists to create a supportive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth. Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance student learning outcomes. Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as necessary to ensure continuous improvement. Provide regular feedback to students and parents on academic progress, strengths, and areas for development. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field Valid teaching certification and NESA Accreditation Proven experience working with children with Autism or special educational needs. Strong understanding of best practices in special education and differentiation strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders. Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain). First Aid certification (desirable). This position is a fixed term contract which may continue into Term 2 & Term 3 for the right applicant.
