As a VET Teacher specialising in Library and Information Services, you’ll play a vital role in preparing students for the evolving demands of the industry. Your knowledge of the Library and Information Services sector will be invaluable in shaping course content that is both current and practical, ensuring students graduate with the skills and confidence to thrive in the field. Whether working in the classroom, online, or in hybrid formats, your ability to create inclusive, customised, and safe learning environments will be key to student success. About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: Demonstrated ability to implement high quality innovative teaching and learning programs in a variety of learning modes, reflecting an understanding of successful approaches to Library & Information Services teaching Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, customised and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students and clients Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in continuous improvement, and develop high quality teaching and assessment materials Builds constructive relationships with colleagues and generates ideas for improvements which includes demonstrating high level communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to identify own learning needs and obtain support for professional development to be able to perform as a VET practitioner of the 21st century Excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student mentoring and student experience. Possess sound computer skills to email, access databases, MS Officer and or other relation Learning Management Systems Current practical experience (currency) within the Library & Information Services industry Qualifications Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or equivalent Diploma or higher qualification in the field of Library and Information Services 4 years’ Vocational experience in the field of Library or Information Services (GLAM sector) About Swinburne University of Technology Swinburne’s strategy draws upon our understanding of future challenges.
