I'm seeking a switched-on Systems/Cyber Administrator with hands-on experience using Microsoft Defender XDR in an enterprise environment. This will be a 3 month contract role with potential extensions. Within this role, you will play a critical part in protecting our infrastructure by monitoring, analysing, and triaging cyber security alerts to distinguish between true and false positives with confidence and accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Monitor cyber security alerts using Microsoft Defender XDR. Accurately classify alerts as false positives or true positives. Perform root cause analysis and document findings. Liaise with internal teams to ensure the appropriate escalation and resolution of real threats. Prepare clear and concise written reports detailing analysis and outcomes. Prioritise and manage tasks to meet deadlines and operational requirements. Required Skills & Experience: 4 years of experience as a systems administrator across Microsoft servers and desktops. Minimum 1 year enterprise experience using Microsoft Defender XDR to monitor and analyse security alerts. Strong experience in analysing cyber threat alerts with a demonstrated ability to distinguish between false and true positives. Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows and Windows Server operating systems, including how they are exploited by cyber threats. Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 cloud platform (minimum 1 year enterprise experience). Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) and Identity & Access Management practices (minimum 1 year enterprise experience). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Valued but Not Required: Experience using the AirLock application execution control system. Familiarity with enterprise risk management practices. Experience managing cyber risk in third-party relationships. Understanding of ISO 27001:2022 and its practical implementation.
