About the role Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Behaviour Therapist role is a position working with young, high need learners on the Autism Spectrum and predominantly with children with severe and challenging behaviour. Its purpose is to support a Team Leader and the Clinical Director, to deliver programs for language, academics, oral motor, gross motor and social skills and to support learners individualised learning. This role is based in our clinic in Claremont Western Australia. In addition, the role will oversee learners working in a disability café training learners, and their support team, in work skills. What you'll be doing On a day-to-day basis, it will see you: Working in our clinic and disability café supporting high need learners on the Autism Spectrum Collecting and charting student’s data, and submitting reports Developing individualised learning and behaviour plans for students Developing teaching materials Assessing students’ abilities and limitations in respect of learning, social interaction, emotional ability, and any problems specific to the individual student Analysing and monitoring progress to maintain program fidelity and achieve fluency and mastery goals Collaborating with parents to implement programs in the home environment Supporting the team with functional communication training for your learners Coordination natural environment training for mastered goals Collecting and analysing treatment integrity data Ensuring compliance with standards, guidelines, and relevant regulations This is an extraordinary opportunity for a passionate and experienced Behaviour Therapist / Specialist Education Teacher with a Teaching or Equivalent Degree and Precision Teaching experience, who has experience in implementing programs with high need learners with severe and challenging behaviour.
