About the office The Research Office provides leadership and support for the management of research and research training and administers external research funding. It is also responsible for ensuring the responsible and ethical conduct of research and for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to improve the quality of the experience and outcomes for higher degree by research students About the role The Senior Administration Officer will provide a wide variety of high-level administrative and operational support to ensure the effective functioning of the Research Office. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Research. Key Responsibilities Provide high-level administrative support to the Research Office, assisting with operational and strategic goals. Prepare and manage documentation, presentations, reports, and correspondence with attention to detail. Maintain financial records, process payments, and ensure budget expenditure is monitored and reported. Deliver excellent customer service by responding to queries from researchers and university stakeholders. Collaborate with other teams to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring smooth workflow. Support new staff through training on common university systems and processes. Qualifications, skills & experience Possession of a degree qualification with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training. Previous administrative experience in a research, university, or tertiary environment. Ability to work under general direction, multitask, and solve problems with autonomy and accountability. Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software programs. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
