We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Database Administrator to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in the management, maintenance, and optimization of database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and grow within the field of database administration Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server. Monitor database performance using internal tools and third-party monitoring platforms, identifying performance bottlenecks and assisting in tuning efforts. Support data backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability. Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to troubleshoot database-related issues and optimize SQL queries, indexing, and schema design. Help implement and enforce database security measures, including user access controls. Participate in database patching, upgrades, and migration tasks under senior DBA guidance. Assist in setting up and managing database replication, clustering, and high-availability configurations. Assist in planning and executing data and database migrations between different platforms, environments (on-premises to cloud or vice versa), or DBMS types, ensuring data consistency, minimal downtime, and compliance with migration procedures. Monitor and respond to database-related alerts, participating in on-call support rotations if required. Document database configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference. Maintain inventory and licensing records for database software in coordination with the infrastructure team. Stay updated with emerging database technologies and best practices. Perform duties as directed by project management and leadership team. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum one (1) year practical experience in database administration. Understanding of database concepts and SQL. Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
