Job Description YOUR ROLE The 12-month fixed-term Instructional Designer role sits within the Learning and Leadership Development (L&LD) team at MACS, supporting professional learning for over 18,000 school and office-based staff. Aligned with MACS2030 goals, the role focuses on collaborating with subject matter experts to design and implement engaging online learning content that builds staff capability and fosters a strong learning culture across the organisation. WHAT YOU WILL DO Design and develop interactive e-learning modules, microlearning content, and blended learning programs. Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex information into accessible, engaging digital formats. Create multimedia assets such as videos, animations, infographics, and interactive assessments to enhance learning. Support the full learning lifecycle, including needs analysis, curriculum design, content delivery, and evaluation. Maintain and update course content in the LMS to ensure alignment with current policies and learning objectives ABOUT YOU Relevant tertiary qualification in instructional design, educational technology, education, or a related discipline, with 2–4 years’ experience in a similar role. Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, including solution architecture, storyboarding, and the development of engaging digital learning using tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline. Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, UX and inclusive design principles, and practical experience designing accessible learning materials within a Canvas LMS environment (essential). Proven ability to deliver effective learning solutions in large, complex organisations, particularly those undergoing digital transformation. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet tight deadlines and project goals.
