This role focuses on analysing, optimising, and documenting the council's network infrastructure with emphasis on security enhancements and network expansion initiatives. You'll create comprehensive network documentation, develop strategic improvement recommendations, and implement essential security enhancements. Additionally, you'll play a key role in network connectivity projects for new council facilities, directly supporting community service delivery. The position will be responsible for: Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation including topology diagrams, IP addressing schemes, routing protocols, security configurations, and hardware inventories. Conduct thorough analysis of existing network infrastructure to identify optimisation opportunities and develop detailed improvement recommendations. Lead network connectivity projects for new council sites, managing the planning, implementation, and testing phases. Provide expertise to identify and implement technology related enhancements and opportunities, with a particular focus on network infrastructure and cyber security. Provide level 3 helpdesk support services where required and assist the IT Coordinator to develop and implement ICT plans and strategies to meet business needs. What you will need to succeed: The successful applicant will have: Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience relevant to the role e.g. Information Technology, Project Management. Minimum three (3) years demonstrated work experience relevant to the role, including the management of complex ICT projects, networking and Cyber Security related activities. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and administrative skills. An ability to work effectively within a team and independently to meet deadlines is essential. Experience supporting Windows environments and modern networking environments. What is next?
