About the role: Ethical Hire is currently looking for Disability Support Workers whom have experience caring for clients with complex support needs. You will be an integral part of the care team for a participant who lives with level 5 spastic quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and Dystonia. They experience unique challenges, including Scoliosis, Dysphasia, and involuntary movements and require supports to live a fulfilling life and achieve their goals. Position requirements: Minimum 3 years of experience in disability care. Experience working with complex care participants. Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or related fields. NDIS Worker Screening Check. CPR and First Aid certification. Current Working with Children check Australian Drivers Licence and use of own car Flexibility to work varied hours, including split shifts, weekends, public holidays, and school holidays. Location: Hoppers Crossing Key Responsibilities: Daytime Support: Facilitate daily living tasks, implement therapy strategies, and support participation in enjoyable activities and community outings. Morning and Evening Assistance: Help with daily routines, including getting ready for the day, exercises, and bedtime. Specialized Care: Assist with transfers, mobility, and equipment, including a bi-pap machine, PEG feeding, and managing therapy techniques as per OT We are looking for: We’re building a team of reliable, flexible, and experienced support workers with: Experience with quadriplegic and non-verbal children. Understanding and use of AAC tools like PODD books or eye gaze communication. A positive and engaging approach to helping children develop skills and participate in activities. Hours of Availability: Weekdays: 6am – 8pm Weekends: 8am – 8pm Availability during public and school holidays is required.
