About the Role FSG is now inviting expressions of interest from experienced Geotechnical Design Engineers to become part of our industry leading Perth team of geotechnical professionals. The role will involve investigation, analysis, design and reporting relating to geotechnical services which may include: scoping and maintaining involvement in site investigations site characterisation work for design inputs soil structure interaction analysis (experience in geotechnical finite element modelling is preferred) analysis using spreadsheet methods and geotechnical software (practical experience with these tools is required) analysis and design of: foundation and retention systems earthworks and working platforms ground improvement slope stability assessments temporary works design. The position offers a variety of work and will also include: project management of geotechnical consulting projects provision of construction phase geotechnical support services use of engineering judgment in delivering geotechnical solutions under guidance from Principal Engineers development of client relationships and involvement in business development and fee proposals supervision, coordination and review of activities carried out by junior engineers implementation of company OHSE systems. Skills and Experience We are looking for the following attributes & experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with post-graduate training in Geotechnical Engineering an advantage Experience in geotechnical analysis and design (2D/3D finite element analysis, slope stability, pile and retaining wall designs, foundation bearing capacity and settlements) and use of industry standard software packages Experience in the interpretation of advanced laboratory and in situ test results and derivation of design parameters Familiarity with standards and methods applicable to geotechnical design Experience in site investigation and/or construction phase geotechnical services is an advantage Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Team oriented and ability to interact successfully with people in a range of industry positions and roles A full driver's licence The base salary for this role is $120,000 to $150,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
