STAIRLOCK, one of Australia’s most respected and fast-growing staircase manufacturers, is on the hunt for a high-performing Area Sales Manager to take ownership of a prime Victorian territory — from North-West Melbourne metropolitan area through to Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo This isn’t just a sales job. This is a strategic new business and key account role where you’ll work directly with leading builders , senior procurement managers, construction directors, architects, and designers to deliver staircase solutions that shape homes — and reputations. If you’ve got a hunter mindset, commercial sharpness, and a passion for technical construction products, this is your career-defining role. What You’ll Be Doing Win new builder clients every quarter Manage and grow key residential builder construction accounts Conduct customer meetings — from site supervisors to boardrooms. Quote, negotiate, and close staircase contracts /projects/quotations. Provide technical product advice (MDF, American Oak, Custom Timber, Steel, Glass). Deliver accurate sales forecasts and margin analysis in Oracle NetSuite ERP. Attend builder/trade events, expos, HIA/MBA forums to deepen relationships. Use LinkedIn like a pro: engage your network, boost STAIRLOCK visibility, follow key builders. Who You Are 5–7 years in B2B sales, business development, estimating (construction preferred) Proven success with medium-density and custom residential builders Skilled negotiator — understand pricing, contracts, and margin drivers Able to read building plans and offer technical guidance confidentiality Advanced computer user: NetSuite (or ERP/CRM), BCI Central, Outlook, Excel Deep knowledge of Melbourne and regional VIC builder landscape Current driver’s licence — this is a mobile role Bonus Points If You Come from a stair, door, window, framing, or building systems background Can train, coach, or run display centre sessions for builders’ sales teams Know your way around AI tools like ChatGPT or have SYSTEMology experience Why Join STAIRLOCK?
