About the role Geovert thrives on repeat business and delivering technically challenging projects with bespoke plant equipment. You will collaborate closely with the General Counsel, Commercial and Engineering team. Supporting the operations team with sound advice, clarify commercial risk and how to effectively protect contract entitlements. Review and negotiate front-end project documentation including: Head contracts (e.g. AS4902, GC21, NZS3910, US design/build agreements) Subcontracts, consultancy agreements, MOUs & Supply and services agreements Provide pragmatic legal advice on procurement strategy, risk allocation, insurance, and project delivery models Conduct legal risk assessments for bids and tenders, including identifying departure points and proposing alternative clauses Draft contract negotiation summaries, risk matrices, and approval memoranda Assist in implementing and updating contract templates and negotiation playbooks Liaise with internal business units and general counsel on complex or international contract matters Support corporate governance, ESG initiatives, and compliance obligations across jurisdictions Contribute to internal training on contractual risk and legal processes About you You are a confident Junior Legal Counsel, who brings excellent communication and negotiations skills. Experience from a ground engineering construction contractor environment is ideal, and we equally support you if you want to make a change from client side. Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and admission as a legal practitioner in Australia or New Zealand 1–3 years PQE with experience in construction law (either in-house or private practice) Ideally familiarity with key standard construction forms (AS, NZS, FIDIC, AIA, etc.) Strong commercial, contractual and financial acumen Keen to join a continuously growing specialist construction contractor.
