About the Role The Financial Crime Intelligence (FCI) team works with industry, law enforcement and government partners on complex investigations and disseminates actionable intelligence to improve ANZ’s capacity to respond to current and emerging criminal threats. FCI’s ability to obtain and analyse information from various sources gives it unique intelligence collection and assessment capabilities. It’s these capabilities that enable FCI to inform and provide critical contributions to operations and strategies to combat serious crimes. The Senior Intelligence Analyst (Design and Analytics), plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing ANZ's capacity to respond to current and emerging criminal threats. By undertaking analysis of our data to test and validate intelligence hypotheses, you will design and support the development of detection solutions. The team also provides data analytics support to FCI’s Threat Assessments and Global Investigations functions, and other stakeholders as required. As a Senior Intelligence Analyst, you will: Develop, test and refine new and existing transaction monitoring detection capabilities (i.e. Dynamic Algorithms), making use of ANZ data and intelligence sources. Liaise with ANZ’s intelligence and operational teams to understand requirements and project alert quality and volume. Ensure the ongoing effectiveness of Dynamic Algorithms through ongoing performance monitoring and reviews of intelligence-driven reference data. Support the management of financial crime data assets, data sourcing and applications across the Financial Crime Portfolio (FCP). Deliver service offerings in an effective and efficient manner, aligned with policy and governance requirements. What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Data management and manipulation skills, particularly in SQL and Excel. Experience using SQL to identify valuable insights and opportunities (demonstrated ability to design detection solutions be highly regarded) A general understanding of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing. Relevant experience in Financial Crime, Regulatory Compliance, Intelligence, or financial systems Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to discuss complex topics with both technical and business audiences. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team Tertiary qualifications in a related field You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills.
