This is a rare opportunity to join a progressive regional Council and play a key role in driving strategic design, engineering excellence, and long-term capital works planning. In this role, you'll lead a talented design and engineering team, ensuring the successful development of a strong pipeline of shovel-ready projects aligned with Moira's objectives and project management framework. You'll work closely with capital works and planning teams to deliver innovative infrastructure that enhances community wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: Lead, coach, and support a high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering and design team. Strategically plan a 5-year pipeline of shovel-ready capital works projects. Oversee engineering designs, feasibility studies, functional and detailed documentation, and Council reporting. Develop infrastructure strategies, policies, and funding submissions. Manage team budgets, risks, and performance in line with Council objectives. Engage effectively with developers, the community, and internal departments to meet planning and design goals. Ensure compliance with the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019 and evolving legislation. What You'll Bring: Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering. Engineering Registration (or eligibility within 6 months) under the Engineers Registration Act, Victoria 2019 . Broad experience in managing design development, forward planning, and capital works delivery. Proven success in community infrastructure project delivery. Strong leadership and team development skills. Excellent stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and communication capabilities. Experience working within Local Government or similar environments.
