The Legal Clerk is a member of a small team with oversight of disciplinary matters under the Teacher Registration Northern Territory Act 2004. It is a position which communicates directly with the Solicitor for the Northern Territory and subsequently administers hearings of the Board in its quasi-judicial functions e.g. Directions Hearings, Prosecutions and Inquiry Committee. It may also be required to administer reviews and other regulatory hearings. This role will participate in review and drafting of legislative amendments and policies under direction. This role may be expected to provide support across other functions of the office in legal communications and reading. This position reports to the Director and/or a Senior Legal Counsel.
