Float Legal Assistant - 12 month contract — South Yarra, Stonnington Area

About the role We are recruting for a Float Legal Assistant for a 12-month contract (open to candidates who are available for 6 months on a Working Holiday Visa). As a Float Legal Assistant, you will provide a high-level of administrative and secretarial support to our Partners, Lawyers and other Legal Assistants across all our practice areas to cover absences, provide extra assistance during busy periods and perform other tasks throughout the business as requested. You will have exposure to a wide range of matters for large corporate and government departments and will learn about how each practice team operates. There is plenty of variety in this role with the key responsibilities and duties being: Co-ordinating meetings, emails and diary management Liaising with clients and fee earners at all levels Proof reading, drafting high quality correspondence and preparing legal documents Edits and amendments including track changes/mark ups and formatting Opening and closing of matters including file archiving Processing credit card expenses Time recording, preparation and processing of monthly billing Inputting and maintaining client data into our CRM software (InterAction) Printing, scanning and copying and General administrative duties. About you Given the nature of the Float role, we are looking for someone who can maintain ownership of their role and be adaptable in an environment where no two days are the same. You will need to be able to demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn. In addition to this, ideally you will have: Previous experience as a Legal Assistant Flexible approach to adapt to different working styles & stakeholders and to build rapport with staff The ability to work autonomously and part of a team Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Word, Power Point and Excel spreadsheet skills Knowledge of Aderant Expert is highly regarded Strong attention to detail & a high level of professionalism A collaborative, proactive approach and friendly nature Why join Maddocks?
