About the opportunity Under limited direction, provide leadership and supervision to Postal Transport Officers undertaking driving duties to provide a high quality, efficient and cost-effective mail service that meets internal and external customer expectations. You’ll also • Ensure that a high level of services is provided to the customer and that service standards are met. • Assess performance, develop and train staff. • Organise own work area effectively and perform all duties efficiently and accurately. • Work with a minimum of supervision and accept responsibility of the position. • Answer telephone and prepare written correspondence as directed. • Supervise and ensure that correct procedures are followed. • Ensure compliance with Aust Post's OH&S policy and other relevant policies. • Driver and forklift duties as required. • Prepare run sheets for the drivers. • Perform any other duty as required or directed by supervisors. • Maintain a harmonious industrial relations climate and foster and develop a team spirit approach as leader in accordance with the principles of Industrial Participation. • Provide excellent customer service • Establish collaborative relationships with team members to ensure that there are on-going productive relationships within the workplace About you We’re looking for candidates that are motivated and able to bring the best out of people under their leadership. You’ll also need • Good knowledge and experience in Postal Transport functions • Ability to lead and develop a small work group • Commitment to customer service and adherence to service standards • Ability to accept and implement changes in the workplace • experience in safe working and adherence to OH&S policy and procedures. • Good working knowledge of Workforce Diversity, Harassment and Our Ethics policies and procedures • Ability to take initiative in the area of performance improvement. Note : HC licence preferable, successful applicants must be willing to upgrade to HC licence if they do not currently possess.
