Casual employment Location: St Michael’s Grammar School, St Kilda, Australia Reports To: Maintenance Coordinator We are looking for enthusiastic and dependable casual staff to assist with the setup and pack-down of events at the School. This role involves manual handling tasks, requiring physical capability to manage furniture, equipment, and event materials. This a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable with physically active duties as part of a dynamic team. The role will report to the Maintenance Coordinator and will work closely with the Events Manager. Key Responsibilities: The role involves hands-on support with the setup and pack-down of events, including the relocation of furniture, equipment, and staging materials, as well as assisting with the installation and removal of displays and signage. It requires ensuring that all materials and equipment are properly handled, maintained, and stored, while also contributing to general event operations such as maintaining cleanliness, managing rubbish removal, and responding to last-minute adjustments. On event days, the role is responsible for responding promptly and professionally to requests from staff and team members to help ensure the smooth running of operations. Clear communication and a collaborative approach are essential, as the position works closely with event staff and fosters positive relationships across the wider School community. Reliability, teamwork, and a proactive attitude are key to the success of this role.
