Design and Technology Technician Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a vibrant and professional Design and Technology Technician to join our team for 2025. The Design and Technology Technician will focus primarily on supporting Technology classes at our Wadhurst Campus. They will work closely with the Head of Technology and other teaching staff to ensure the Design and Technology curriculum can be delivered competently and safely throughout the school year. The role will include ensuring that facilities, equipment and resources are consistently maintained, and that the preparation and clean-up of materials and resources for classes is completed in a timely manner. The role will also require assisting the teacher with student safety supervision during classes, along with demonstrating key processes to small groups of students in class situations, at times. Our Middle School, Wadhurst, is Melbourne Grammar School’s purpose-built middle school learning community for boys in Years 7 and 8. Wadhurst specialises in educating 12-to-14-year old’s by addressing the transition from childhood to adolescence. The School is located at our South Yarra campus and is attended by approximately 350 boarders and day boys. You will: Liaise with the Head of Technology and teaching staff within the Technology department, as required, on their needs for practical work and maintain an efficient system for use, storage and allocation of materials and equipment. Advise teaching staff on technical components of curriculum and assist with demonstrations. Liaise and work with the lead Senior School Technician on communal curriculum requirements, and on initiatives for improving and value adding to the Technology faculty. Assist teaching staff in instructing students on the use and care of equipment, tools and machinery. Advise and assist teaching staff in safety matters relating to the Design and Technology learning spaces and workshops.
