Where Cloud lives and AI thrives Job Description NEXTDC’s Legal function is responsible for providing strategic legal advice to enable the business to achieve its commercial objectives while managing legal risk in compliance with applicable laws. This role is responsible for providing expert legal advice for NEXTDC’s Australian and international operations. Within this role you’ll provide efficient provision of legal services for one or more business units within NEXTDC to mitigate risks. Tasks you will be responsible for: Preparing, reviewing, advising on and negotiating specialist building and construction agreements related to the development of data centres in Australia and overseas. Providing expert legal advice for NEXTDC’s operations, negotiation and risk management, including the review, preparation and amendment of relevant legal documentation on: projects, construction and operations matters, focussed on data centre development, design, construction, operational and services phases marketing material intellectual property matters general contract matters for business ad hoc legal advice on regulatory matters relevant to NEXTDC Assisting in the development of policies, procedures and training programmes for staff on relevant legal issues Providing expert legal advice in the interpretation of legislation and monitoring changes and developments in the legal and regulatory environment Participating with the management team and external advisers in the evaluation, structuring and documentation of future business opportunities Qualifications Bachelor of Laws and Australian solicitor appointment 4-8 years’ experience in post-admission within a well-regarded firm or corporation Background in property, commercial, or construction law essential In-depth knowledge of relevant acts and legislation Ability to distil complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice for non-legal stakeholders Excellent drafting skills Strong negotiation, especially project contract negotiation, and influencing skills Ability to prioritise competing demands A high degree of integrity and trust This opportunity will see you working with world leaders in our space.
