About the Role We are looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to fullfil part time permanent opportunities to support our amazing clients. You want to engage in providing active support to our clients. As a Disability Support Worker with our Home and Living Support teams, you will be: Engaging with a focus on supporting person-centred active care, this may include health care, medication administration, personal care and hygiene, transport, education, cooking and domestic duties Empowering the people you support to make choices and decisions about all aspects of their life, focusing on their needs and goals Supporting individuals to connect, get involved with and maintain networks within the community Working collaboratively with your team to ensure consistency of service delivery Getting involved to plan and engage with activities for the individual you support with a keen focus on their interests Communicating positively and professionally with the people we support, their networks and stakeholders Your experience and abilities look like: Flexible to work in the southern suburbs and surrounding suburbs. Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with a disability, that includes experience with those who exhibit challenging behaviours Proficient written and verbal communication, and able to use your communication skills to build rapport with the people we support Available to commit to a 7-day rotating roster, including a mix of shifts. Please be aware that candidates may be required to use their own vehicle in the course of their duties, a mileage fee will be reimbursed Your skills and qualifications look like: Minimum completed Certificate III Individual Support, Disability or Aged Care NDIS Worker Screening Clearance DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC) (Issued prior to 1st February 2021) Current First Aid Certificate including updated CPR (HLTAID009 & HLTAID001) Valid Unrestricted Driver's Licence Unrestricted Working Rights NDIS Worker Orientation Module Medication Certificate (Already in place or willing to obtain post interview - via SALC or Learning Simplified (only these providers are accepted, cost is $130) At Minda, we provide services and support to enable people living with an intellectual disability to reach their personal health and wellbeing goals and live their best lives.
