Job Summary: At Kent Auto Air & Electrical, based in Pakenham, VIC, we are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Electrician with a strong background in Earth Moving Machinery to join our team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of Earth Moving Machinery Air Conditioning, Electrical systems and works, and diagnostic fault finding specific to heavy-duty machinery used in mining, construction, and industrial applications. This role requires precision, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on the electrical systems of earth moving machinery, including dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and haul trucks. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair air conditioning systems in heavy machinery. • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults using diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals. • Carry out wiring, installation, and testing of new and replacement components. • Conduct preventative maintenance checks to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently. • Calibrate and maintain electrical and electronic systems such as lighting, battery management, alternators, sensors, control panels, and onboard computers. • Work collaboratively with mechanical fitters and other technicians to ensure optimal machinery performance. • Ensure all repairs and installations meet safety and regulatory standards. • Maintain accurate service records and documentation. • Comply with company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations. Qualifications and Experience: • Trade Qualified Automotive Electrician (AQF Certificate III or higher). • Minimum 2 years' experience working with earth moving machinery. • Proven experience in air conditioning servicing and repairs • Strong understanding of hydraulic-electrical interface systems. • Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools and software (e.g., CAT ET, Cummins) • Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and technical manuals. • Knowledge of OH&S and compliance procedures in heavy industry environments. • Manual Driver’s License (HR preferred).
