About the Role: You are a technically minded and solutions-focused Design Engineer who thrives on turning complex challenges into innovative outcomes. With a passion for engineering, you will help deliver safe, cost-effective, and high-performance products for some of the world’s toughest mining environments. You are responsible for designing and engineering Mining Mobile Plant (MMP) products and services that not only meet but exceed customer expectations. You’ll work across the product lifecycle from concept and modelling to site support and product optimisation with a focus on practical innovation and technical rigour. You will: Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and modify MMP product designs aligned with Bradken’s business goals. Create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings, and conduct simulations and analysis to ensure robust and functional design outcomes. Carry out reverse engineering and product failure investigations to continuously enhance product performance and lifecycle. Provide front-line technical support to internal teams and external customers, including onsite inspections and installation support. Partner with Sales to offer engineering insight and ensure our customers receive technically sound, cost-effective solutions. Capture, maintain, and share Bradken’s design knowledge, supporting the development of intellectual property that shapes our competitive edge. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement by: Participating in internal design process enhancements and quality audits. Ensuring compliance with applicable international and country-specific manufacturing and quality standards. Preparing and controlling technical documentation for both manufacturing and field operations. Supporting the release of Bradken’s intellectual property in line with licensing agreements and approval protocols. Key Technical Criteria: Relevant tertiary education in Mechanical engineering or relevant experience CPEng qualification is highly regarded. Experience working within a mining or heavy manufacturing environment NX and Teamcenter PLM experience is desirable. Experience with DEM, MBD, and ANSYS FEA simulation software is desirable Proficiency in CAD, including 3D modelling and 2D drafting, preferably with Unigraphics NX or similar package, is highly regarded This role is based in Perth, WA.
