Retail Manager — Woodlands, Stirling Area

Oh So Deli is seeking a Retail Manager to manage the daily operations of our store located in Woodlands, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, managing staff, maintaining inventory, and food safety management standards. To be successful as the Retail Manager, you should have a demonstrated knowledge of retail/cafe management including specialty coffee, coffee equipment, latte art and an ability to train others. This is a full time position, located in Woodlands, WA and working 38 hours over 5 days. There’s free onsite parking and you’ll start at 6am and be finished by 2.30pm most days, as well as have one weekend day off a week. Working closely with our Operations Manager you’ll be responsible for: Proactively look for ways to improve processes involving service flow and provide feedback as needed to the Operations Manager. Set a positive tone and strong work ethic and lead by example Recruit, train, onboard, and supervise staff and provide on-going training. Prepare weekly work schedules for staff and find suitable replacements in cases of staff absence. Ensure that the store remains profitable by overseeing coffee and food ordering, supplies, maintenance, and labor costs. Monitor budgets, sales, and profit margins and identify ways to decrease operational costs. Resolve customer complaints regarding food quality and customer service. Suggest and develop new menu items based on customers’ preferences and feedback including weekend and seasonal specials. Maintain proper loss prevention standards and cash handling procedures. Keep the store clean and presentable, modifying checklists as needed to maintain a clean environment and making sure all health and safety standards are adhered to. Provide excellent customer service. Engage with customers and get to know the regulars as well as educate customers on menu items and answer any questions they might have. Routinely check equipment to make sure it is operating properly and reports any maintenance needs to the Operations Manager. The successful applicant will have the following qualifications / skills: Proficient with technology including Microsoft Word & Excel or similar applications. Provide quality customer service with a friendly disposition. Must be able to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as needed. Knowledge of food safety management tools and standards. Knowledge of specialty coffee including latte art, coffee extraction theory and coffee equipment. Action-oriented, coachable, and teachable Exceptional communication and organisational skills Exemplary management skills and strong business acumen Ability to lift 15 kilograms and be on feet for extended periods of time. Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: Current driver’s license High school diploma or equivalent Current Food Handling certificate Proven experience working as a cafe manager, cafe supervisor or similar role Familiarity with point-of-sale software
