Position: Retail buyer We are looking for an experienced Retail Buyer to join our team at Shepparton. Key Responsibilities Researching and selecting goods for resale based on customer demand, store trends, and seasonal factors Assisting in identifying product trends and consumer preferences to ensure the product range remains competitive and aligned with market demand Negotiating contracts and purchasing terms with manufacturers, importers, or wholesalers to secure the best possible pricing and delivery schedules Liaising and building strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure consistent supply and timely delivery of goods Preparing and managing budgets for product lines or departments Forecasting demand and planning stock quantities to meet store needs Monitoring stock levels and supporting inventory management to prevent overstocking and stock shortages Managing purchase orders to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure smooth operational flow Analyzing consumer buying patterns, market trends, and competitor activity to inform purchasing decisions Assessing product performance and offering recommendations for promotions, discounts, or changes to the product range Collaborating with the merchandising team to ensure effective in-store product presentation to boost sales Coordinating with logistics and store teams for efficient stock handling and replenishment Requirements: Previous experience of minimum one year as a buyer, preferably in party supplies and confectionery industry. Strong negotiation and communication skills Excellent organisational and time management skills
