About the role Eastern Health has received funding from the Department to open specialised Women's Health Clinics. The Women's Health Social Work role forms part of the core requirements of these clinics and is integral to the implementation of this new service. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker to join Eastern Health's new Women's Health Clinics team. This role will be integral to providing specialized social work services to women attending the Women's Allied Health Clinic and Pelvic Pain Clinic. This may include providing care for women experiencing chronic pelvic pain, symptoms of menopause and perimenopause and concerns around their sexual and reproductive health. The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively with our nursing, medical and allied health team to provide consumers with improved access to health care specific to their needs. Service delivery may include group and individualised sessions. As a new service, this is an exciting opportunity to be involved in service development and establishing appropriate models of care for this cohort. About you To be successful in this role you will possess: • Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. • Evidence of current CPE, as per AASW requirements • Relevant postgraduate qualifications, or commencement thereof, in Social Work or health field. • Previous health care experience • Advanced social work, leadership and management skills as evidenced by seven or more years post qualifying professional experience. • Demonstrates an advanced knowledge base specific to medical diagnoses and related social health issues • Demonstrates the ability to undertake risk management across the continuum of care. • Excellent interpersonal skills including demonstrated flexibility, proficient negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal). • Capacity to work skilfully and creatively in an environment of completing values. • Demonstrate a proactive approach and change management skills. • Demonstrated high-level skills in supervising and teaching social workers, social work students and others. • Strong conceptual skills to provide high-level advice to the Social Work Manager and Allied Health Program manager on program, practice and policy matters. • Computer literacy • Current Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements in line with AASW CPD standards Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
