The role We are seeking applications from skilled and dedicated individuals who are truly passionate about providing exceptional programs for young children. The candidate will be responsible for the following duties: Assist in developing and implementing a play-based program of experiences for children based on the Early Years Learning Framework is based on up-to-date knowledge of child development reflects principles of shows an understanding of the needs of individual children is culturally and linguistically appropriate, non-sexist and responds to children with additional needs within a larger framework of anti-bias, equity and inclusive practices for all children incorporates children’s voices, interests and ideas Supervise the children’s physical environment Ensure that a high standard of hygiene is maintained in the service’s indoor and outdoor environments and that policies and procedures are adhered to at all times Support children’s individual well-being and comfort in sleep, rest, and relaxation Ensure that the environment and equipment are maintained in a safe condition Promote the health and safety of children, employees, and visitors in attendance at the service Compliance with all Child Protection Legislation and its requirements Maintain a clean and developmentally appropriate space at all times Ensure each child has a sense of belonging, being and becoming in the Service Maintain respectful, equitable and genuine relationships with all children at all times. Ensure each child’s dignity and rights are maintained at all times Form positive, nurturing and comforting relationships with children. Requirements: The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and highly motivated and have the following skills and experience: AQF Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Over two (2) years of work experience as a child care educator A flexible, mature and friendly team player who has strong communication, mentoring and leadership skills Knowledge of respectful care practices relevant to children Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in early childhood Well organised Innovative in thought and practice Willing to attend Professional development. Further information Monthly RDO Supportive Educational Leader and Director/Owner onsite Explore & Develop Emu Plains is at the base of the Blue Mountains. The service is open 50 weeks per year between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm and caters for 76 children each day. The service employs staff to cover Annual Leave, RDO’s, lunchtimes and programming cover, which minimises the use of casual or unfamiliar educators. They are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
