Sugarbaby Cafe in Randwick is looking for a talented and experienced Cafe Chef to join our team! We're seeking someone with a creative flair, a strong background in breakfast and brunch menus, and a high standard of hygiene and kitchen organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with the owners and take charge of daily kitchen operations to support the continued growth of our vibrant venue. About the Role: Your duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to the following): · Plan and develop menus, including chef specials. · Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation · Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures · Oversee kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. · Manage ordering, stock maintenance, portion control and proper storage procedures. · Maintain a clean and organized kitchen with proper opening and closing procedures. · Minimize wastage and manage food costs efficiently. · Address customer feedback, complaints, and suggestions professionally. · Supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. · Create staff rosters and oversee the hiring and training of new team members. About you: To be successful in this role you must have: · At least 2 years work experience in a similar role within a busy kitchen. · Completed Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification. · Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, quality assurance, and food safety standards. · Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. · Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
