Practice Overview Our Construction Disputes & Advisory delay team is involved in dispute resolution, arbitration and litigation expert witness testimony, EOT claims preparation and responses, and schedule analysis. Role Overview As a Senior Associate, you will be mentored to assist in the preparation of pre-dispute advice, litigation / arbitration support, expert witness testimony, claims assessment, and forensic schedule analysis. You will be responsible for data research, management, and analysis, and support the appointed expert in preparing and presenting results to clients and tribunals. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic track record with significant practical industry experience. Previous experience in preparation of, or responding to, EOT claims, and forensic schedule analysis would be an advantage. This role entails operating in a fast-paced culture and will suit a candidate with the ambition and desire to grow and develop in the dispute's world. The role will involve frequent client interaction, including preparing and presenting results. You will be part of a talented team of experts working on some of the region's most interesting and significant project disputes. You will work from our Melbourne office. However, the international nature of our work means that successful candidates should be prepared to travel within the region, sometimes at short notice. Responsibilities: - Working with a team, assist with the provision of expert advice to clients. - Assist in the preparation of claims and counterclaims in respect of extension of time, disruption, prolongation, and relief from liquidated damages, particularly matters of delay. - Assist in the delivery of commission services in line with client briefs. - Deliver tasks within specified time frames. Requirements: - A background in construction or engineering with a related degree. - Experience across a range of construction/engineering projects, an advantage. - Good analytical, research, fact-finding, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to review technical and non-technical documentation - Experienced user of Excel, Word and PowerPoint - Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 software or similar. - Understanding of claims and contract administration. - Knowledge of main standard forms of contract. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to manage own workload to meet deadlines. - Willingness to learn and ambition to progress their career. - Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally.
