An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Store Design Manager to join Brandbank Group. In this pivotal role, you will lead the store design function across six unique brands, overseeing the full design process from concept to execution. As the sole designer on the team, this is both a hands-on and strategic leadership role. You’ll collaborate with marketing, visual merchandising, and construction teams to deliver innovative, functional retail spaces that reflect each brand’s identity. Your expertise in layout, fixtures, and merchandising will help optimise the in-store experience, drive customer engagement, and support commercial success. THE ROLE: Review tenancy drawings and develop floorplans for site feasibility assessments. Lead store design projects, including new builds, refurbishments, pop-ups, and shop-in-shop concepts. Develop and present design concepts aligned with brand vision and business goals. Manage external contractors, ensuring brand consistency and quality standards. Oversee joinery and fixture designs, collaborating with suppliers, manufacturers as well as our Procurement Manager. Maintain and update finishes libraries for each brand’s store design. Submit designs for landlord approvals and negotiate changes where necessary. Ensure final designs meet brand standards, functionality, and commercial feasibility. Work closely with project managers and business leaders to align designs with budgets and timelines. Stay updated on global retail design trends and recommend process improvements. This is an on-site position, 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: 7-10 years of experience in retail store design or interior architecture. Experience managing multiple fast-paced store design projects. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit is an advantage. Experience with design software (e.g., SketchUp, Photoshop, rendering tools). Strong stakeholder management and project management skills. Knowledge of joinery, construction processes, and retail fit-outs. Understanding of building codes, permits, and accessibility standards.
