Job Description Study Requirements: Throughout the 12-month trainee program, you will complete a Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal) through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on the job experience Traineeship Outcome: Subject to assessment and sea-time requirements by AMSA, this qualification will allow you to work as a GPH (General Purpose Hand/Deckhand). This is an entry level qualification, additional qualifications would be required if you would like to command a vessel or work your way up to Ship Master.
