MJD Recruitment are excited to be working with a global law firm in search of a legal secretary in their Tax department. This is a perfect role for someone from a professional services administration background (legal, consulting, accounting) who is confident managing calendars, inboxes, client events, and BD support. You’ll be part of a friendly, social, and close-knit team that values collaboration and initiative. Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Handle phone enquiries, client liaison, diary and email management, and manage incoming and outgoing mail. Assist with monthly bills, including rate corrections and preparing invoice cover letters, and maintain matter files, including opening/closing new matters and conducting conflicts checks. Create, edit, and manage documents, assist with note-taking during client calls, enter time records, and arrange travel bookings. Prepare court documents and briefs to counsel, perform general administrative duties (copying, scanning, faxing), and manage e-filing, hard copy filing, and loose-leaf filing. Provide reception cover and general office duties as needed, and cover for other Legal Secretaries in the Melbourne office during absences. Do you have the following skillset? You will have 2-4 years of experience in Legal Support or Professional Services. You will have advanced Microsoft Office and typing skills, and excellent organisational abilities. You will excel at prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong attention to detail. You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, with fantastic client service skills and the ability to anticipate needs. You will come with positive attitude and a knack for building effective working relationships, making you a perfect fit for the team!
