Why this role exists Your code will power the mobile experience thousands rely on daily to understand, grow and protect their wealth. Every pixel and API call you ship directly improves a client’s financial wellbeing. The Role You’ll join a cross‑functional squad (product, design, data, and mobile) to design, build and optimise features that feel right on both iOS and Android. While we love engineers who can ship to both platforms, we’re equally keen to meet specialists with deep expertise in one and a hunger to learn the other. What you’ll do Build end‑to‑end user‑facing features—from API to pixel—with performance, accessibility and security in mind. Collaborate daily with product and design on discovery, prototyping and iterative delivery. Instrument every feature with analytics, experiment flags and success metrics. Champion mobile best practice: code reviews, testing strategy, CI/CD and documentation. Mentor teammates and help shape our engineering culture. Framework & Architecture Expectations Must‑have foundations: UI & Design: SwiftUI UIKit (iOS) and/or Jetpack Compose (Android) React Native (or React for shared components) Design‑system thinking – tokens, theming, automated Figma‑to‑code hand‑off Architecture & State: MVVM / unidirectional data‑flow Clean / Hexagonal layering with testable modules Modern concurrency (Swift Concurrency, Kotlin Coroutines & Flow) Feature Management & Experimentation: Feature flags and staged roll‑outs (LaunchDarkly, Firebase Remote Config, etc.) Built‑in A/B testing wired to product metrics Data, Networking & Observability: Offline‑first sync, robust REST/GraphQL clients & structured error handling Crashlytics/Sentry, structured logging & dashboards for runtime insights Testing & CI/CD: Meaningful unit & UI test coverage (≈70 % on critical paths) Fastlane / Gradle Managed Devices pipelines with static analysis (SwiftLint, detekt) Security & Compliance: Security baked‑in from day 0: threat‑modelling each story, ATS/SSL pinning Alignment with OWASP MASVS & regular mobile penetration tests Keychain / EncryptedSharedPrefs for secrets Nice‑to‑haves Flutter or other cross‑platform frameworks for rapid prototyping MVI / Redux‑style patterns (TCA, Orbit‑MVI) Advanced GraphQL federation, OpenTelemetry traces Canary builds with automatic revert rules, property‑based tests Device attestation (DeviceCheck / SafetyNet), self‑hosted CI runners Guiding principles (non‑negotiable) Data‑driven decisions – every feature ships with analytics & defined success metrics. Security first – PII and financial data handled with least‑privilege, zero‑trust assumptions. Modular, SOLID code – clear boundaries, fast builds, safer refactors.
