As an Engineering Manager at HotDoc, you will be at the centre of the action helping 10 million patients across Australia to manage their health. As our Platform Engineering Manager, you’ll lead the team responsible for the infrastructure and services that power our SaaS application, ensuring it’s secure, reliable and scalable as we continue to grow. You’ll own the health and evolution of HotDoc’s core platform: monitoring, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, performance tuning, and incident response. By partnering closely with security, operations and product stakeholders, you’ll prioritise and deliver initiatives that maximise uptime, reduce latency, automate toil, and underpin every feature our customers and practitioners rely on. Over the next couple of years, you will help us: Elevate reliability: Reduce incidents and streamline on‑call processes through better tooling, runbooks and automated remediation. Scale seamlessly: Expand our platform capacity to support growing practitioner and patient volumes without compromising performance. Accelerate delivery: Build and maintain self‑service tooling (CI/CD, SDKs, libraries) so feature teams can ship faster and safer. Fortify security: Embed best‑practice controls—encryption, IAM, vulnerability scanning—and support our SOC 2 Type II compliance journey. Your responsibilities in helping us achieve these outcomes include Lead and coach and motivate a team of high performing engineers, providing guidance, support, and career development opportunities to help them thrive in their roles. Drive the technical execution and delivery of projects, ensuring high-quality output that meets business and user needs. Support the team in monitoring performance and productivity, using data to make informed decisions that improve efficiency and highlight opportunities for growth. A strong technical background and a passion for solving complex problems in creative ways. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
