The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centered services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, material aid assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services. Services are voluntary, accredited and delivered by professional and committed staff. ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a pro-active and experienced homelessness support worker to be part of our After Hours Team in order to ensure the safety and well being of clients living in our onsite residential accommodation. The After Hours Team operate in keeping with the Case Management Plan for each client. The position is located in Croydon and shifts consist of - Monday - Friday Evening Shift 7pm - 11.30pm Sleepover Shift 7pm - 8.30am Weekend and Public Holidays Day shift 8am - 4pm Afternoon / Evening shift 3.30pm - 11.30pm Sleepover Shift 7pm - 8.30am Some 11.30am - 7.30pm shifts may be available Monday to Friday. Must be willing to work sleepover shifts. HOURS AND SALARY This is a casual position. Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award, Social Stream, Level 4. SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE Willingness to work within the mission and values of The Salvation Army. Have a relevant tertiary qualification at Diploma Level in Social Work, Community Development and Welfare Have experience working with single adults and families with accompanying children /adolescents, who are experiencing homelessness and display multiple and complex behaviours Ensure the safety and well-being of all clients and staff after hours, overnight and on weekends Work within a case management model Be engaging and build effective relationships A willingness to undertake a Criminal History check is essential A current Employee Working with Children Check is essential A current Victorian Drivers Licence is essential Proof of eligibility to work in Australia.
