About the Centre/Service Kangaroo Ground Pre-School is a community-run, not for profit, sessional kindergarten located in the north-eastern suburb of Kangaroo Ground. We operate programs for 3- and 4-year-olds, including an off-site nature-based program, ‘The Explorers’ at the bush block, adjacent to the grounds of Kangaroo Ground Primary School. Kangaroo Ground Pre-school strongly values the development of secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships with children, families and the wider community. We believe that children are capable and competent learners; we respect the child’s right to make decisions, take risks and actively construct their learning. We strive to encourage a sense of connectedness to the natural environment and to enhance environmental responsibility through sustainable practices. We are co-located with Kangaroo Ground Primary School, sharing adjacent grounds and before/after school hours care facilities. Kangaroo Ground Pre-school is committed to the rights of all children to feel safe and be safe at all times, with particular emphasis on promoting the right to safety for our most vulnerable communities. Description The children of Kangaroo Ground Preschool have declared that teachers should play lots of games with the children, they should do cooking in the sandpit, play basketball, play hungry, hungry frogs, help make cool things and have fun with the children. If this sounds like you, Kangaroo Ground preschool could be the right fit. We are seeking some depth to our casual pool! Flexibility can be offered for relief days to suit parents with school age children. Are you ready to get back to work, but still want to pick your children up from school? This could be for you! We are seeking casual lunch cover, occasional covering additional non-contact time and a possible additional educator role coming up with consistent hours. Our co-located OSHC service are also seeking staff, and the roles could be worked by the same candidate for longer hours if desired. Qualifications Responsibilities Facilitate positive outcomes for children aged 3-5 years in a range of settings. Facilitate positive and developmentally appropriate play experiences and interactions Ensure the highest levels of health and safety are maintained at all times Practice culturally sensitive and inclusive practices Develop connections with children, fostering their curiosity and creativity.
