Technical Assessor / Engineer Edinburgh, SA About the opportunity Airbus has an opportunity for a passionate person to join our Edinburgh team in a new position as a Technical Assessor / Engineer in support of the MC-55A Peregrine. Based at RAAF Base Edinburgh, Airbus work with multiple agencies to support the MC-55A Peregrine Platform. The Peregrine MC-55A is a new airborne electronic warfare capability based on the Gulfstream G550 Platform that will be integrated into Defence Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Electronic Warfare joint warfighting networks. About the role The Technical Assessor (TA) is responsible for analysing and documenting applicable requirements in support of continuing airworthiness. The TA fulfils the role of the logistics and technical interface between Engineering, Technical Services, and Supply teams. As a Technical Assessor, you will be involved in a variety of tasks relating to identification and management of Aeronautical Product (AP). A key component of this role is the maintaining the approved Authority to Fit (ATF) systems (both Airbus and Commonwealth). You will also conduct Technical Spares Assessment, Stock Assessment and Cataloguing Services conducted by Supply to ensure compliance with regulatory authorities, contractual and organisational requirements. The TA will work closely with the Technical / Engineering Support disciplines, Material Support & Logistics (MS&L) and Support &Test Equipment Inventory Managers (STEIMs) regarding inventory management issues and ensuring that the aeronautical product is authorised, correctly documented and serviceable prior to acceptance into stores. Depending on the candidate's experience and capabilities, additional functions of this role may include: * Hazchem Management * Weapons System Database Administration * Aircraft Maintenance Policy Management * Maintenance Engineering Analysis * Technical Writing of Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness * Flight and Maintenance Publication Management About you To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a high performing team environment, have well developed relationship skills as well as good verbal and written skills. You will need to be someone who is able to work to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment. The skills and experience best suited to this role include: * 10 years' experience in the aviation industry * 5 years' experience (post trade qualification) working as a fully qualified technician in Maintenance or Continuing Airworthiness Management environment, or professional experience working in relevant engineering field as a practising engineer * Certificate IV in Aeroskills or Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent experience * Logistics Assessors Training * Logistics Codification and Cataloguing Courses * Defence Materials Catalogue Training * Formal Training with Microsoft Suite Software To ensure your success in this position, it would also be desirable that you have the following: * Sufficient technical vocabulary to allow correct interpretation and processing technical information. * Ability to absorb multiple inputs and take difficult decisions in the best interests of the capability * Ability for self-directed task management in a high workload environment * Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction Why us Here at Airbus, we offer a holistic, competitive framework that recognises performance and rewards outcomes.
