Section overview The Radiation Protection Services (RPS) Section is responsible for the provision of a suite of commercial services which protect workers and the public from the harmful effects of radiation. This includes the monitoring and reporting of ionising radiation doses, the radiofrequency calibration of instruments and the testing and endorsement of a range of ultraviolet protective fabrics, films and glasses. The Section maintains accreditation to ensure delivery of high quality and traceable scientific services to the Australian community. The key duties of the position include In this role you will provide dynamic administrative support to the Radiation Protection Services section. This comprises of the UV Laboratory, Radio Frequency Calibration Laboratory, and the Personal Radiation Monitoring Service. Across the section you will work within the customer service team to perform a variety of duties, including database entry, distribution of reports, processing orders, coordinating receipt and dispatch of equipment or monitors, and providing high level customer service via telephone and email. Additional tasks specific to each laboratory area may be required, such as scheduling customer bookings, preparing quotations, and invoicing or purchasing. General administrative support to assist the ARPANSA main reception or central administration team may be required from time to time. Key accountabilities Undertake general and specific administrative tasks supporting Radiation Protection Services section Provide high level customer service to internal and external stakeholders Support the efficient and timely distribution and receipt of documents and equipment Prepare and maintain accurate electronic and physical records Assist with maintenance of procedural manuals and quality system documents Maintain a flexible approach, supporting priority areas of the section as directed Our ideal candidate - job specific capabilities You will possess personal drive and integrity together with a demonstrated capacity to work cohesively within a team environment. You will need to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and take personal responsibility for completion of work in a timely manner. You must hold Australian citizenship and be prepared to travel interstate from time to time as required. ARPANSA requires all new employees to obtain and maintain a national security clearance as a condition of engagement. You must also meet required pre-employment checks as necessary.
