We are seeking a dedicated and experienced male support worker to provide one-on-one support to a male participant living with a psychosocial disability in Slacks Creek . This role requires a calm, consistent, and person-centred approach to support the participant in maintaining his independence and emotional well-being. About the Role As a support worker, you will play a critical role in helping the participant live independently in a safe and stable environment . You will support his daily routines , encourage emotional regulation , and foster healthy communication and relationship-building . Your approach must be structured, trauma-informed , and respectful of the participant’s choices, cultural background, and personal goals. This is a hands-on role requiring an individual who is proactive, resilient, and experienced in working with participants with complex behavioural needs . _____________________________________________________ Set Fortnightly Roster Casual - 32 hours per fortnight Please note this roster cannot be amended and all below shifts must be completed in full by the successful applicant. Additional hours are available with other clients if you are seeking more work. Week 1: Friday 17:00pm to 9:00am (Sleepover 22:00pm to 6:00am) - 8 hours Sunday 17:00pm to 9:00am (Sleepover 22:00pm to 6:00am) - 8 hours Week 2 Friday 17:00pm to 9:00am (Sleepover 22:00pm to 6:00am) - 8 hours Sunday 17:00pm to 9:00am (Sleepover 22:00pm to 6:00am) - 8 hours _____________________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Provide consistent, person-centred support in the participant’s home and community. Implement trauma-informed strategies to support emotional regulation and well-being. Encourage daily routines and independence in decision-making. Support the development of positive relationships and communication. Follow support plans and behavioural strategies as required. Maintain clear boundaries and uphold participant dignity at all times. About You You are a reliable, experienced support worker with: A background in supporting individuals with psychosocial disability and behavioural complexities . A strong understanding of trauma-informed care and person-centred practice . Excellent communication and de-escalation skills. The ability to remain calm, consistent, and supportive under pressure. A genuine passion for helping others achieve stability and independence. Casual Rates - SCHADS 3.1 In Home Care (incl. 25% loading): Day: $33.96/hr Afternoon: $37.36/hr Night (active): $38.04/hr Saturday: $47.55/hr Sunday: $61.13/hr Public Holiday: $74.72/hr Sleepover: $50 flat rate for sleeping Essential Requirements NDIS Worker Screening Check Working with Children Check/Blue Card First Aid and CPR Certification Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Mental Health, Disability, or equivalent Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a comprehensive insured vehicle Ready to make a difference?
