Based at our St Lucia campus About This Opportunity We are seeking a highly innovative and experienced Learning Designer to champion the enhancement of teaching quality within the faculty by partnering with academic staff to design engaging curriculum, assessments, and active, flexible pedagogies. Reporting to the Strategic Lead, Academic Language Development, you will be instrumental in the English Language Proficiency (ELP) Strategic Program Enhancement initiative, directly collaborating with program convenors and course coordinators to embed impactful learning opportunities within and beyond program curricula across UQ. Key responsibilities will include: Advance Blended Learning & Technology Integration Lead the uptake, design, development, and evaluation of learning technologies, resources, and pedagogies in blended environments for faculty across UQ, applying specialist knowledge to learning design systems and protocols. Advise & Develop Online Learning Solutions Consult with university teaching and management staff on the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of effective online learning resources that enhance student learning and contribute to the design of pedagogical tools and templates based on feedback. Drive Pedagogical Advancement & Collaboration Engage with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts to advance pedagogical outcomes across university programs and collaborate on curriculum projects that enhance student experience and language development. Manage Learning Design Projects & Professional Development Plan and lead internal learning design projects, coordinating resources and defining project scope, and design and deliver presentations and training, while also identifying and coordinating professional development opportunities. About You Essential Relevant degree with at least four years' experience in developing online learning resources (or equivalent), coupled with a strong understanding of educational technology's potential and limitations, and best practices for student and teacher success. Advanced analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex information to identify issues and apply pedagogical theory and contemporary practice to develop innovative face-to-face and online learning solutions. Demonstrated expertise in using various learning platforms and associated software for the comprehensive design, development, implementation, and evaluation of online learning resources and environments. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build strong collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders and a demonstrated commitment to meeting client needs effectively. Demonstrated ability to work iteratively and adapt to change, operating effectively both independently and collaboratively within a client-focused team, with experience in leading and developing high-performing teams and staff. Desirable Expertise in one or more of the following areas: e.g. educational design, academic development, multimedia design, assessment. Experience teaching TESOL to adult students. You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
