Description Casual Food and Beverage Attendant Reference number: 10632 Closing date: 11:00pm, 14 May 2025 Casual position. Salary of $49.05 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation (commensurate with experience). SE-1 The Opportunity Join Moonee Valley City Council’s vibrant Arts, Culture & Place department as a Casual Food and Beverage Attendant at the Clocktower Centre. The Centre is a hub for arts, culture, and community engagement in Moonee Valley. In this role, you will support the Catering Services Team in delivering high-quality food and beverage services at a variety of civic, community, and commercial functions. Your responsibilities will include working in the foyer bar/kiosk, assisting with café services, and contributing to the smooth running of events at the Centre. Key Responsibilities Deliver exceptional customer service to patrons at the Clocktower Centre, ensuring a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Delivery of a range of civic, community and commercial functions, meetings and training sessions Assist in catering operations, including food and beverage preparation, room setups, and ensuring clean and tidy catering areas. Handle money, manage stock, and complete necessary reconciliation paperwork in the café or foyer bar/kiosk. Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), and other relevant policies and procedures. Assist in front-of-house customer service roles, supporting other venue operations to deliver successful events. Under the direction of the Duty Manager or shift supervisor, work in the foyer bar/kiosk or café, maximising sales, handling money and stock, and ensuring that all relevant reconciliation paperwork is completed. On occasions, and under the direction of the Duty Manager, work in other front of house or customer service roles to assist with venue operations required to deliver events. Skills & Experience To succeed in this role, you’ll need high-level customer service skills and experience in catering operations, including food and beverage service, room set-ups, and bar operations. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be physically able to stand for long periods, lift and carry equipment, and work effectively in a team. Experience using point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and food preparation is desirable. Additional qualifications such as a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate, safe food handling certification, and barista training are preferred, or you should be willing to obtain these credentials.
