Area Sales Manager — Hope Island, Gold Coast North

Tru-Gard is a leader in the design and manufacturing workplace safety innovation, offering high-performance products such as barriers, handrails, bollards, and pallet racking protection systems. These solutions are tailored to diverse industrial needs and widely trusted for protecting people and assets across high-traffic environments throughout New Zealand and Australia. The Job: We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter to take ownership of the Auckland, Northland, Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions, building new client relationships and increasing Tru-Gard's market footprint. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in spotting opportunities, opening doors and is passionate about helping customers find effective safety solutions and ultimately closing sales. You will be an independent, results-oriented sales professional who excels at developing strong, trust-based relationships with clients. You bring a strategic and solution sales mindset, enjoy chasing new business, and have a knack for turning technical information into compelling sales proposals. You will be comfortable working remotely/field based and driven by providing outstanding results for the company and your clients. You will be a natural communicator, instilling trust in everything that you do throughout the sales cycle and beyond, trust, respect, honesty and keeping promises is key. Responsibilities New & Existing Business Development: Drive growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, engaging prospective clients through site visits, cold calls, and networking. Manage a well-structured sales pipeline, deliver compelling proposals, and close deals effectively. Respond promptly to sales enquiries, ensuring client expectations are met. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to address client needs and enhance customer satisfaction. Keep customer information accurately updated in Salesforce CRM. Networking and Health & Safety: Represent Tru-Gard at industry events to establish a strong market presence. Proactively identify and report any health and safety concerns, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Qualifications and Key Competencies Industry Experience: 3 years proven background selling products or solutions into industrial/warehousing environments such as safety equipment, storage solutions, industrial machinery/assets or similar. Solution Selling - Understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions in a technical context. Sales Expertise: Deep understanding of the sales process and buyer behaviour. Experience with high-ticket products involving long sales cycles, where customer service and relationship-building are crucial. Customer-Focused Approach: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships. Prioritising customer satisfaction and seeks to provide value rather than just closing sales at any cost. Technical and Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable discussing technical details with clients and able to communicate requirements to the team. Insight into industry trends and standards relevant to Tru-Gard’s market. Organisational Skills: Systematic and organised, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities. Proficiency in Tools: Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and video communication platforms (Zoom, Teams) is a must. Additional Requirements: A full, clean New Zealand driver’s license is essential, along with the ability to travel domestically as needed. What’s in it for You?
