This will include the maximisation of sales and productivity to deliver surplus to support Corps activities. The thrift shop also exists as a valued mission expression of the ministry of The Salvation Army. About the role We are seeking a values-driven Sales Assistant This position exists to perform customer focused retail tasks that support the daily operation of the store and the missional objectives of The Salvation Army. Reporting to the Thrift Store manager this is a Permanent, Part-Time role, located in Mooroopna, Victoria. You will have Provide exceptional customer service, offering assistance on the shop floor, fitting room, register, or other areas as needed. Assist in executing and coordinating store marketing and promotional activities. Process donations and ensure stock is correctly priced and available on the shop floor. Maintain visual standards of the store and keep stock organized. Assist with housekeeping activities to ensure timely completion. Follow Work Health and Safety guidelines, including timely submission of Solvsafety incidents. Ensure site and personal security is maintained by all team members. Perform store opening and closing procedures. Comply with secure cash handling and banking procedures. Provide direction, coaching, and guidance to team members. Report serious incidents to appropriate personnel following established procedures. Follow established procedures for all work tasks. Perform additional tasks as required by Line Management. You will have Relevant retail industry and/or customer service experience Demonstrated customer service experience working in a retail environment with an ability to work collaboratively in a team setting Sound presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written) with an ability to interact with a variety of people Values-Driven : Alignment with the values of integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, and diversity.
