Immediate Start Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne location About the role Our client, a government agency, seeks an experienced Instructional Designer to join them on short-term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 6-8 weeks based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. As the Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for developing engaging and contemporary materials and resources in various formats to support the delivery of capability development and incorporate adult learning principles, accommodating different learning styles to a range of audiences and abilities. Responsibilities and duties Reporting to the Organisational Capability Lead, your responsibilities and duties will include: creating a variety of high-quality learning delivery materials to complement different delivery options including face to face workshops, workplace and simulated workplace environments and online digital platforms applying innovative and engaging learning and assessment methodologies. designing relevant and engaging learning experiences that participants can readily translate to their business context and processes developing learning materials in alignment with the organisation's brand guidelines. Ensure materials are of a high-quality standard equipping diverse users (learning facilitators, line managers, and learners) to be able to effectively and efficiently utilise materials and resources. participating in evaluation of the effectiveness of learning solutions and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement collaborating with subject matter experts to identify and analyse learning needs for target learning audiences. working closely with the People & Culture team and other business units to identify and support additional learning needs throughout the organisation creating training resources that are accessible, version-controlled, and available for the team Key Selection Criteria To be successful in the role, you will need: Proven working experience in instructional design with the latest trends and best practices in instructional design and e-learning Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models Demonstrable ability to storyboard concepts, write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts Ability to state instructional end goals and create content that matches them Qualifications/Technical Expertise Degree qualified in instructional design, educational technology or relevant industry certification with proven subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and relevant experience.
