Administration Officer — Horsham Area, Horsham Region

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Temporary Administrator to provide short-term coverage at the Horsham Agriculture Victoria Office. This opportunity is to backfill a key administrative role while the current team member is on leave from 1 July to 18 July 2025. This position is well-suited to someone with strong front-of-house and reception skills, excellent organisational abilities, and confidence managing competing administrative tasks in a professional government setting. Position Overview This temporary role involves a range of administrative and reception duties that support both internal staff and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will receive handover and training prior to the start of the coverage period to ensure a smooth transition. Key Responsibilities Answering incoming phone queries from staff and the general public Managing mail in/out and front desk reception duties Coordinating stationery audits Monitoring and responding to emails in the Fleet inbox and Front of House inbox Booking and managing meeting room reservations General data entry, filing, archiving, and office support tasks Using Office 365 and MS Teams for communication and coordination About You To be successful in this role, you will: Hold a valid Working with Children's Check and Police Check Have previous experience in reception or general office administration Be a confident communicator with excellent customer service skills Demonstrate strong organisational and multitasking abilities Be comfortable working independently and following established processes Be reliable, proactive, and willing to take ownership of day-to-day tasks Have proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and online communication platforms Training & Handover Handover training will be scheduled in late June ahead of the leave period. Training will focus on systems, inbox management, and procedures specific to the Horsham office.
