The Centre of Jewish Life Inc., known as JEMs (Jewish Education Matters), is a not-for-profit organisation based in Bondi, New South Wales, dedicated to promoting Judaism and Jewish education. JEMs operate as a government-approved Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) Centre for primary school-aged children, fully registered and compliant with the National Quality Framework (NQF), ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism. A Childcare Worker at the Centre of Jewish Life Inc. (JEMs) in Bondi, NSW, is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children, with an emphasis on Jewish values and traditions. We are looking for dedicated personnel to join our dynamic team as childcare workers. Your key duties and responsibilities will be, but are not limited to, the following: Ensure the well-being and safety of all children by maintaining vigilant supervision during activities, playtime, and rest periods. Develop and execute age-appropriate educational and recreational activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development, incorporating Jewish cultural and religious elements where appropriate. Assist children with daily tasks such as dressing, feeding, and maintaining personal hygiene, including diapering for infants and toddlers. Introduce and educate children about Jewish customs, holidays, and traditions through stories, songs, and activities, fostering a connection to their heritage. Implement positive behavior management strategies to guide children's behavior, promoting respect, sharing, and cooperation among peers. Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns, ensuring a collaborative approach to each child's development. Ensure that the childcare environment is clean, organized, and safe, including sanitizing toys and play equipment regularly. Keep accurate records of each child's activities, progress, and any incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education and Jewish cultural education. Desired skills and responsibilities: · Must have minimum Cert III in related filed · At least two years of experience as a child care workers, including approved Out of School Hours Care · First Aid and CPR certificate · Working with Children, check · Interpersonal and Good communication skills · Creative in designing various activities for children · Sensitivity to the cultural, religious and personal values of families, · Flexible in rotating rosters Job Type: Full-time Pay: $73,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year Schedule: Afternoon shift Morning shift Experience: Early childhood education: 3 years (Preferred) Licence/Certification: Working with Children Check (Required) Work Authorisation: Australia (Required) Work Location: In person
