About the role We are seeking a values-driven After Hours Crisis Accommodation Support Worker This position will ensure the safety and wellbeing of all clients and staff outside of business hours and operate in keeping with the Case Management Plan for each client and the policies and procedures of The Salvation Army. Reporting to the Team leader this is a Casual role, located in Croydon, Victoria . You will have: Assessed and processed client referrals, including after-hours intake, using sound assessment and intervention strategies within a crisis framework. Delivered support aligned with Case Management Plans to ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients and their children, while promoting awareness of clients’ rights, HASS standards, and relevant legislation. Maintained strong knowledge of internal and external resources and services, and participated in after-hours duties such as meal programs. Communicated effectively with staff by starting shifts on time, sharing relevant updates, and ensuring accurate and timely client records in systems like SAMIS and the Continuity log. Followed consistent service delivery and administrative procedures, including regular updates on policy changes and accurate maintenance of digital records. Performed domestic duties to ensure cleanliness and safety of client accommodations and communal areas within designated timeframes. Availability to work the following; Monday - Friday Evening Shift 7pm - 11.30pm Sleepover Shift 7pm - 8.30am Weekend and Public Holidays Day shift 8am - 4pm Afternoon / Evening shift 3.30pm - 11.30pm Sleepover Shift 7pm - 8.30am Some 11.30am - 7.30pm shifts may be available Monday to Friday. Must be willing to work sleepover shifts. You will have: A relevant Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Welfare or related field. Demonstrated experience with accompanying highly developed skills in working with persons experiencing homelessness and who display a range of highly challenging behaviours is desirable. Knowledge of the service systems, in particular youth, housing and homelessness, Child Protection, AOD, Family Services and Mental Health Understanding and experience in applying Case Management principles and practice. Demonstrated skills in engaging homeless persons and willingness to assist in the provision of support in the areas of domestic violence, drug & alcohol, mental health, living skills and parenting. Level 2 First Aid Certificate – required (training can be provided). Understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
