SCV Academy (Casual) - Safer Care Victoria — Melbourne CBD, Melbourne

About the role: Casual- 3 Years - VPS Employees are not eligible to apply for this role SCV Academy members will consist of both clinicians and consumers who may be engaged on a casual basis to undertake complex work that supports Safer Care Victoria and the Department of Health. Demonstrating relevant experience and expertise in reviewing serious adverse events, problem solving, facilitation and leadership, robust written and verbal communication, and time management, this role will liaise internally within SCV and the Department of Health, and externally with stakeholders. The role reports to the Executive Director of Safety and will work closely with other SCV team members to ensure the implementation and delivery of key accountabilities to SCV's strategic plan and vision. About the Role Are you: Experienced in solving complex problems and/or incident investigation? A systems thinker with a background or interest in human factors? An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills? Emotionally intelligent in dealing with others and understand the impact of serious events on staff, patients and their families? Able to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams with a diverse range of stakeholders (i.e. clinicians, consumers and incident analysis and human factors professionals) to participate in or facilitate reviews and/or mentor health services conducting reviews? Solutions focused and naturally curious to identify systemic barriers to and opportunities for improvement in safety and quality? Have excellent time management, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules? Passionate about improving quality and safety of healthcare in Victoria? Furthermore, Successful Candidates also are required to be compliant with the following Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Qualifications Tertiary qualification in fields related to medicine, nursing, midwifery, allied health, or relevant degree is mandatory. Current AHPRA Registration is mandatory. Specialist qualifications in areas including obstetrics, paediatrics, neonatology, paediatrics/neonatal nursing, midwifery is highly desirable. Specialist Expertise Demonstrated experience in organisational change, organisational development, safety and quality management, human factors, and/or organisational behaviour and dynamics is highly desirable.
