Description Opportunity to join our team We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced educator to support our sessional kindergarten program as a casual staff member. We have casual relief staff opportunities available commencing immediately to support the leave arrangements of a long-term staff member and to provide above ratio support for our exciting beach kindergarten sessions and our other school readiness programs. This position would be well suited to an early childhood educator with a Certificate in Early Childhood Education & Care, who is currently upskilling to a Diploma qualification. Responsibilities The Casual Early Childhood Co-Educator shall undertake the following duties under general supervision and with guidance: Assist in the implementation of the daily routine completing tasks and activities without constant direction; Have a good understanding of and participate when required in emergency procedures; Assist with the preparation, general cleanliness (non-industrial) and cleaning up and packing away of activities; Attend to the physical, social and emotional needs of children on an individual and group basis; Achieve a warm and friendly relationship with children that is supportive and responsive to their needs; Foster play and cognitive development in children; Assist in developing good relations with families attending the service; Work positively and appropriately with all staff and parents, individual committee members and the employer in the provision of services; Develop an understanding of and contribute to the development and implementation of the program planned for the children; and Undertake general observation of children, and report findings to the early childhood teacher as appropriate. Additional duties commensurable to your experience and as outlined in the VECTEA 2020 Roles & Responsibilities Schedule 4 may be required. Qualifications - Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care. - Current First Aid certification (HLTAID004 – Provide Emergency First Aid in an Education & Care Setting) Training) (includes CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certification) - Satisfactory Working with Children Check - Previous experience working in a sessional kindergarten considered favourably.
